Cream cheese with cherries and almond crust

Ingredients for 8 servings:

  • 3 jars of morello cherries, 350 g each
  • 4 cups of cream cheese, 175 g each, e.g. Philadelphia
  • 200 g sugar
  • 2 bags of vanilla sugar
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 3 cups of cream, 200 g each
  • 3 bags of cream stiffener
  • 400 g almond sticks
  • 1 small piece(s) of butter
  • 4 tbsp sugar

Instructions

Working time approx. 25 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 35 minutes

Combine cream cheese, sugar, vanilla sugar, and egg yolks. Whip the cream with the cream stiffener until stiff, then fold it into the cheese mixture. Meanwhile, drain the cherries well. Layer them in a shallow dish; small dessert bowls also work. Spread the cheese mixture over the cherries. Caramelize the almond extract, butter, and sugar in a pan and sprinkle over the cheese mixture. Then refrigerate the dessert for one hour.
