Cream gyros with spaetzle

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500 g pork, shredded, alternatively turkey
  • 1 onion(s)
  • 2 cups of cream
  • 5 tbsp spice mix, more if desired
  • 5 tbsp oil
  • 500 g spaetzle
  • e.g. salt and pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Rest time approx. 2 hours; Total time approx. 2 hours 15 minutes

Mix the meat with the gyro seasoning, finely diced onion, and oil and marinate for about 2 hours (overnight is even better). Cook the spaetzle according to the package instructions. Heat a pan, add the meat without adding any more oil, and fry over medium heat until crispy brown on all sides. Add 1 cup of cream and let it reduce. Then add the second cup of cream and simmer until the sauce is slightly thickened. Season to taste and serve with the spaetzle. Serve with a green salad.
