Creamed schnitzel

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 2 pork schnitzels
  • salt and pepper
  • 50 g bacon, streaky smoked
  • 1 small onion(s)
  • 1 tsp oil
  • 1 tbsp tomato paste
  • 200 ml water
  • 200 ml milk
  • 2 tsp broth, granulated
  • 1 pinch(s) of sugar
  • 2 tbsp cream
  • Flour, for turning

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Pat the schnitzels dry, pound them, season with salt and pepper, and coat them in flour. Cut the bacon into small cubes. Peel and finely chop the onion. Heat oil in a pan. Fry the schnitzels on both sides, remove from the pan, and cover and keep warm. Sauté the bacon and onion cubes in the remaining oil over low heat. Stir in the tomato paste, water, milk, and broth, and simmer for 4-5 minutes. Season the sauce with sugar and cream. Add the schnitzels to the sauce along with any meat juices and heat briefly. Serve with spaetzle and salad.
