Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 500 g bread(s), dry, variety of your choice
  • 3 tbsp, heaped sugar, brown
  • 3 tbsp, heaped raisins
  • 1 cup of cream

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Sauerland recipe

Crumble the stale bread into a saucepan and place it in a pan with just enough water to cover. Add the raisins and brown sugar and bring to a boil. Simmer until completely evaporated. If it gets too dry, add a little more water occasionally. Remove the pan from the heat and stir in the ice-cold cream. Ladle into bowls and serve.
