Cucumbers in tomato sauce

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 2 kg cucumber(s), small
  • 1 large onion(s)
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • 125 ml vinegar
  • 750 g ketchup, spicy
  • 190 g tomato paste
  • 110 ml oil
  • 1 tsp mustard seeds
  • a few garlic cloves
  • 210 g sugar

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Rest time approx. 2 hours 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 3 hours 15 minutes

hot and spicy

Clean, peel, and quarter the cucumbers. Peel the onion and slice it into thin strips. Place them in a bowl and sprinkle with 1 tablespoon of salt. Let stand for two hours. Then drain the juice. Stir together all the ingredients for the sauce and add to the cucumbers. Let stand for 30 minutes. Then pour into 250 ml preserving jars and simmer for 15 minutes.
