in the priest’s style

Mix the first five ingredients and let it rest for half an hour. Form small dumplings with wet fingers and then add them to boiling water. When the dumplings float to the top, they’re done. I like them best coated in buttered breadcrumbs and topped with strawberry jam. To make the breadcrumbs, simply melt some butter in a pan, add the breadcrumbs and a little powdered sugar, toast, and you’re done.
