Currant and strawberry jam

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 500 g currants, not yet peeled
  • 500 g strawberries, not yet peeled
  • 500 g gelling sugar (2:1)

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 5 minutes; Total time approx. 25 minutes

makes 6 glasses of 250 ml each

Place the jam jars and lids in hot (preferably almost boiling) water. Wash the currants and remove the stems with a fork. Wash the strawberries and remove the green parts. Remove the jam jars and lids from the water and place them upside down on a kitchen towel to drain. Place the berries in a saucepan and puree with a hand blender. Mix the berries with the gelling sugar, bring to a boil, and continue to simmer for 5 minutes while stirring. Immediately pour the mixture into the jars, seal the jars, and allow to cool.
