Peaches in a Veil

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 8 half peach(s) from the can
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 20 g butter for the mold
  • 4 slices of white bread
  • ¼ liter of milk
  • 1 packet of vanilla sugar
  • 1 tsp, leveled cornstarch

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

Drain the peach halves. Separate the eggs and beat the egg yolks with 1 tablespoon of sugar until creamy. Beat the egg whites until stiff. Grease a very shallow dish or the lid of an ovenproof dish with butter and line with white bread. Preheat the oven to 250°C. Mix the milk with 1 tablespoon of sugar and vanilla sugar and pour over the bread slices along with the egg yolk mixture. Arrange the peach halves on top. Dust the cornstarch over the beaten egg whites and spread this over the peaches until they are covered. Bake the foamy surface in the preheated oven with the door open at high heat for 1-2 minutes until light brown. Serve with tea and fruit juice.
