Ingredients for 1 servings:
- 1 kg chestnut(s), peeled
- 300 g honey (forest)
- 600 ml brown rum
- 400 ml port wine, red
Instructions
Working time approx. 5 minutes; Rest period approx. 7 days; Cooking/baking time approx. 45 minutes; Total time approx. 7 days 50 minutes
with game dishes or pancakes
Roast the peeled chestnuts on a baking sheet in a preheated oven at 180°C for about 45 minutes, turning occasionally. Then let them cool slightly and place them in a large, sealable container with the honey. Mix the rum and port wine and pour over the chestnuts. Seal the container and store in a cool, dark place for at least 1 week. They also make a great gift from the kitchen.
