Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 small apple, peeled and diced
  • 1 onion(s), diced
  • 1 clove(s) garlic, crushed
  • 1 small chili pepper(s), red, pitted and chopped
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 1 tube(s) Tomato paste
  • 2 tbsp curry powder
  • 1 tbsp paprika powder, sweet
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 250 ml water
  • Salt

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 35 minutes

This makes the currywurst taste really delicious!

Sauté the apple, onion, garlic, and chili in the oil. Add the curry powder and tomato paste and sauté briefly while stirring. Pour in the water and apple cider vinegar. Add the paprika and let it simmer for about 10 minutes. Add the honey and season with salt. Tips: I blend the whole thing once with a hand blender, but this isn’t necessary. If you don’t like it too spicy, use less chili. The apple gives the sauce a nice fruity flavor.
