This is the best way to cut an apple
You can of course cut an apple however you want. However, some methods are easier or faster.
- The easiest way is to use a vegetable peeler. This way you lose as little shell as possible. Then use an apple slicer to help you. This is how you core the apple and have it right away in practical slices.
- You can also remove the peel from an apple with a knife. Here you should proceed carefully so that you do not lose too much of the apple. With this knife, you can also cut the apple further. Quarter it, then core it and cut the apple into small strips.
- Another option is to just cut the apple in half and then scoop out the core. So you have two apple halves that you can fill, for example.
- If you cut the apple into strips, it can be conveniently processed into small cubes. These cubes are good for a fruit salad, for example.
Tips and tricks for cutting apples
You don’t always have to peel an apple to slice it. The apple with its peel is also ideal for processing.
- In the peel, you will find many vitamins that you can only eat when the peel is still on. If you want to cut them off, you should only remove them a little.
- Be sure to wash the apple before eating. Especially if you got the apple from the supermarket, it’s probably sprayed. You should therefore wash it thoroughly if you want to eat it with the skin on.
- Check apples from the garden for worms. It is better if you cut such unsprayed apples into small pieces, as this is the best way to tell if a worm has gotten lost.
- By the way: You don’t always have to cut an apple. You can also eat an apple like this – you can even eat the core. Just make sure you wash it well.
