Grandma’s Puttäppel
Soak the sultanas in the schnapps, chop the walnuts slightly, and add them. Add the marzipan in small pieces and mix everything into a paste. Wash the apples thoroughly and cut a “lid” off the top. Cut out the core, but leave the apples closed at the bottom. Drizzle with lemon juice. Now fill the apples with the marzipan mixture. There should be about a good teaspoon of the mixture in each apple. Place a knob of butter on the mixture and place the apple lid on top, pressing down lightly. Place the apples in an ovenproof dish (with a lid if possible) and bake in the oven at 180°C (convection oven) for 45-60 minutes. This goes well with vanilla sauce or rice pudding.
