Delicious of Charneux

The delicious Charneux is often referred to as the mayor’s pear. The fruit is medium to large, cone-shaped, and has a yellow-green overcolor with a reddish tinge. The shell is smooth and has many small, bright spots called lenticels.

Origin

The Charneux Delicious was found around 1800 by M. Legipont from Charneux in Belgium. It is mainly grown in the Altes Land (Northern Germany).

Season

This pear variety is available from October until well into winter.

Taste

The taste of the delicacy of Charneux is mainly sweet. It has a weak acidity and tastes very aromatic.

Use

The delicious Charneux is a valuable autumn pear, which is valued both as a table pear and as a preserve, compote, dried and juice fruit.

Storage

The Charneux Pear variety, like other pear varieties, is quite delicate and cannot be stored for a long time without losing its taste and perfect consistency. A pear should be juicy, but not mushy. It is therefore advisable to store them in a separate compartment in the refrigerator. Avoid storing pears close to apples or other fruits, as the natural ethylene pears give off will cause other fruits to wither faster. In addition, the pome fruit likes it dark. Room temperature and light are only good for unripe pears; both help to mature them. Enjoy the delicious Charneux within 5 days, then the fullest fruit enjoyment is guaranteed.
