Dessert: Quince in Syrup

The perfect dessert: quince in syrup recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 2 big Quince fresh
  • 1 Lemon fresh
  • 500 ml Water
  • 200 g Sugar
  • 4 Cloves
  1. Squeeze the lemon. Wash, rub and peel quinces. Then cut lengthways into eighths and halve them crossways again, removing the core. Put the qiutten in a saucepan and pour lemon juice over them.
  2. Add the water, sugar, cloves and 8 quince kernels to the pot. Bring the whole thing to the boil and simmer over a mild heat for about 60-75 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  3. Now take out the quinces. Bring the liquid to the boil again, remove the seeds and cloves and reduce to a syrup in 6-8 minutes. Let it cool down a bit and then pour it over the quince.
  4. Fill into dessert bowls and serve after cooling.
