Instructions
Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes
Chocolate cake
Grease a square baking pan (20 x 20 cm) or springform pan (diameter 26 cm), preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius. Bring the water and honey to a boil, remove the pan from the heat, and stir in the chopped chocolate. Set aside. Cream the butter and sugar until creamy, stir in the egg yolks, then stir in the flour, cocoa powder, and baking powder. Mix everything with the cooled chocolate mixture. Beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form and carefully fold in. Pour the batter into the pan and bake for about 40 minutes (every oven will vary). Once cooled, remove from the pan and pierce several times. For the icing, bring the cream to a boil in a saucepan, remove from the heat, add the sugar, butter, and chopped chocolate, and stir until everything has dissolved. Let it cool slightly; when the mixture is semi-liquid, pour the icing over the cake. Ready to serve as soon as the icing has set slightly.
