Ingredients for 6 servings:
- 450 g flour
- 250 ml milk
- 1 packet of baking powder
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 50 g butter, soft
- 1 egg(s)
Instructions
Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes
Preheat oven to 200°C and grease a baking sheet thoroughly. Whisk the egg. Combine the flour, baking powder, and sugar in a mixing bowl. Mix the butter into the flour with your fingers until the dough resembles breadcrumbs. Make a well in the center and pour in the milk. Mix everything together until you have a slightly sticky dough. Roll out the dough to about 2 cm thick and cut out scones using a tea glass (approx. 5 cm in diameter). Place the scones on the baking sheet, brush with egg, and bake for about 15-20 minutes. Serve hot with jam and/or whipped cream.
