Poppovers

Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 2 eggs
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ liter of milk
  • 2 tbsp butter, melted
  • 180 g flour

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

Beat the eggs with the salt, then stir in the milk and melted, slightly cooled butter. Stir in the flour until well blended, but with a few small lumps remaining. The batter will be quite runny, so it can be poured. Grease a muffin tin and fill each hole two-thirds full with the batter. This will make a 12-hole tin. Place the muffin tin in a cold oven, then turn the temperature down to 200 degrees Celsius and bake for 20-30 minutes. The popovers will turn on their sides in the tin. When golden brown, serve immediately while warm. The popovers turn best in the silicone tin, which should also be lightly greased. Sweet and savory toppings taste equally good. A highlight of our Sunday breakfast.
