Elderberry-Orange Jelly

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 600 ml juice (elderberry)
  • 300 ml orange juice, preferably freshly squeezed
  • 500 g gelling sugar, 2:1
  • 1 stalk(s) cinnamon

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

with cinnamon

In a large saucepan, combine the juices with the sugar and add the cinnamon sticks. Bring to a boil while stirring, then simmer for at least 3 minutes. Remove the cinnamon stick and immediately pour the hot liquid into sterile twist-off jars. Turn upside down for 5 minutes. Tip: For the required amount of sugar, please follow the instructions on the package. I used a 2:1 sugar ratio, which sets 900 ml of juice, but other brands only set 750 ml. It’s best to do a set test; if the mixture becomes too runny, stir in a sachet of citric acid and bring to a boil.
