Emmental Leek Rösti with Fried Egg
The perfect emmentaler leek rösti with fried egg recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
- 450 g Potatoes
- 100 g Emmental
- 1 pole Leek
- 2 Eggs
- 2 El Butter
- Oil
- Sea salt from the mill
- Pepper from the grinder
- Nutmeg
- Process the potatoes into jacket potatoes the day before, allow to evaporate and peel. Depending on the taste, add some caraway seeds to the cooking water.
- Clean the leek, cut into fine strips and fry in the butter in a pan. Season with a little salt. In the meantime, coarsely grate the potatoes and mix them with the grated Emmental cheese and the leek. Season with salt, pepper and nutmeg.
- Heat a sufficiently large pan, add the oil and fry a nice hash brown from the potato mixture on both sides. While the second side is frying, make a fried egg from 2 eggs and place on the plate when serving over the hash browns.
