Falafel
The perfect falafel recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
- 1 Can Chickpeas
- 50 g Millet
- 1 small Onion
- 1 Clove of garlic
- 1 tsp Lemon juice
- 1 tbsp Tomato paste
- Cumin, parsley, salt, pepper, oil
- 50 g Flour
- Boil the millet with approx. 100 ml water for 10 minutes, then remove from the stove and let it steep for another 10 minutes.
- Put the chickpeas, millet, onion, garlic, lemon juice and tomato paste in a tall container and puree.
- Season with cumin, parsley, salt and pepper.
- Add the flour and mix in. I always use whole wheat flour.
- Heat a pan with plenty of oil, form small falafels out of the dough, add to the pan and fry until the desired color is achieved.
- It is best to turn the falafel as little as possible so that they don’t disintegrate.
- While frying, add the oil again and again.
- The millet in it makes the falafel nice and juicy 🙂
