Farfalle with cheese sauce

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 400 g pasta, small (e.g. farfalle)
  • Salt
  • 1 m.-sized onion(s)
  • 1 garlic clove(s)
  • 100 g ham, cooked, sliced
  • 2 tbsp butter or margarine
  • 1 tbsp flour
  • 1 tbsp vegetable broth
  • 100 g peas (frozen)
  • 200 g cream cheese with herbs
  • e.g. parsley, fresh
  • n. B. Chives, fresh
  • Pepper, white

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Cook the pasta in boiling salted water for about 8-10 minutes. Peel and finely dice the onion and garlic. Cut the ham into thin strips. Heat the butter or margarine. Briefly fry the onion, garlic, and ham. Sprinkle with the flour and sauté. Deglaze with 1/2 liter of water, stirring constantly. Bring to a boil and stir in the vegetable stock. Add the peas and simmer for about 3-5 minutes. Stir in the cream cheese in portions. Bring the sauce back to a boil and season with salt and pepper. Drain the pasta and let it drain. Wash and finely chop the herbs. Arrange the pasta on plates with the cheese sauce and serve sprinkled with herbs.
