Feta cheese and onion muffins

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 1 onion(s)
  • 6 tbsp oil
  • 150 g feta cheese
  • 150 g quark (low-fat quark)
  • 3 tbsp milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp honey
  • 250 g spelt
  • 1 packet of baking powder
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 2 tbsp cream
  • 30 g sesame seeds

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Savory wholemeal pastries – enough for 12 pieces

Peel and finely chop the onion. Heat 1 tablespoon of oil and sauté the onion in it. Finely grate the feta cheese. Mix the low-fat quark with the milk, eggs, salt, and honey until smooth. Finely grind the spelt and mix with the baking powder. Add the flour and gradually stir in. Knead in the feta cheese and onions along with the cooking oil. Let the dough rest in the refrigerator for at least 15 minutes. Grease a muffin tin. Divide the dough into 12 equal portions and divide them between the muffin tin holes. Whisk the egg yolk with the cream and brush the muffins with it. Sprinkle with sesame seeds. Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C for about 20 minutes.
