Fiery sausage salad

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 350 g meat sausage, in one piece
  • 2 small onions
  • 4 medium-sized gherkins
  • 1 jar pearl onions (drained weight 185 g)
  • 3 m.-large tomato(s)
  • 1 tbsp capers
  • 3 tbsp Hungarian-style paprika sauce
  • some cucumber juice
  • some Tabasco
  • Salt
  • Pepper, freshly ground
  • Paprika powder, sweet

Instructions

Working time approx. 25 minutes; Total time approx. 25 minutes

Skin the sausage and cut into slices, then into strips. Peel and dice the onions. Cut the gherkins lengthwise, first into slices, then into strips. Drain the pearl onions in a sieve. Wash and dry the tomatoes, quarter them, remove the stem ends, and cut them into pieces. Mix the prepared ingredients with the capers in a bowl. Carefully stir in the gypsy sauce. Season the salad with cucumber juice, Tabasco, salt, pepper, and paprika and let it marinate for a while. Season the salad again before serving, if necessary.
