Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 300 g fig(s), fresh
  • 100 g sugar, brown
  • 4 tbsp balsamic vinegar
  • 2 tbsp, leveled mustard powder

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 35 minutes

for two glasses of 125 ml each

Peel the figs and cut into small pieces. Add 4 tablespoons of water and puree. Bring the sugar and vinegar to a boil. Add the puree and simmer over low heat for 15 minutes (stirring occasionally, as it will pop). Mix the mustard powder with 4 tablespoons of water until smooth and add to the figs. Simmer for another 5 minutes. Pour the fig mustard into prepared jars, seal, and let cool. Tastes great with cheese, sausage, and bread.
