  • 300 g fig(s)
  • 150 g gelling sugar (2:1)
  • 50 g walnuts
  • ½ lemon(s)
  • ½ tsp berries (red peppercorns)
  • some cinnamon powder
  • 100 ml water

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Chop the figs and cook with the lemon juice and 100 ml water until soft. Then puree with a hand blender. Finely chop the walnuts, finely grind the red pepper, and add to the fig purée along with all the other ingredients. Bring everything to a boil and simmer for 3 minutes. Then pour into screw-top jars and seal. The purée tastes great as a dessert with yogurt and quark, or on a roll for breakfast. Or simply by itself, straight from the jar.
