Recipe from Russia – with quark

Knead the dough from the ingredients and let it rest for about 20 minutes. Beat the quark with the egg and add the sugar and a pinch of salt. Roll out the dough and cut into either round shapes or rectangles. Place a teaspoon of quark in the center of each. Moisten the edges with water, fold the pastries into half-moons or squares, and press the edges together with a fork. Bake for 20-25 minutes at 200°C (400°F). Brush the finished, still-warm pastries with honey. Low-fat quark may dry them out a bit, but this won’t affect the flavor.
