Filled puff pastry parcels

Spread the love

Ingredients for 3 servings:

  • 1 pack of puff pastry
  • 150 g cream cheese
  • 125g mozzarella
  • 3 tomatoes, depending on size
  • 200 g turkey meat, shredded, or other meat

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 50 minutes

filled pockets with tomato, mozzarella, cream cheese and turkey

First, take the turkey strips and fry them in a pan. At the same time, roll out the puff pastry on a baking sheet lined with baking paper and preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius. While the meat is sizzling, prepare the parcels. To do this, use a knife to cut through the puff pastry once horizontally (in the middle) and twice vertically to create six equal-sized squares. Then spread the squares generously with cream cheese, always leaving a small edge free. Next, quarter the tomatoes and place them in the center of each parcel. Cut the mozzarella to roughly the same size and layer it with the tomatoes to form a small pile. Once the meat is cooked, add it to the center of the parcels. The filling is now ready. Now take two corners at a time and fold them in half; thanks to the rather sticky puff pastry, this holds quite well. Follow with the remaining two corners of the puff pastry squares. You can, of course, fold them differently; it’s entirely up to you. After you’ve done this with each pocket, place them on the middle rack of the oven at 200 degrees Celsius (400 degrees Fahrenheit) and wait, depending on the puff pastry instructions, until they’re done. This usually takes about 20 minutes. Then just let them cool slightly. The pockets also make great cold snacks, for example, at birthday parties.
