Ingredients for 12 servings:
- 125 g butter
- 100 ml sugar
- 2 eggs, including the yolk
- 3 tbsp water
- 350 ml flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 125 g almond(s), ground
- 250 ml powdered sugar
- 2 eggs, of which the egg white
- 2 tbsp water

Almond cake (Prince’s cake)
Cream butter and sugar until white and add the egg yolks. Add flour, baking powder, and water. Press 2/3 of the dough into a 24 cm springform pan. The dough should rise slightly at the edges. For the filling, mix the almonds with powdered sugar, egg white, and water. Spread on the base. Roll out 1/3 of the dough and cut into thin strips; arrange them on the cake as a lattice. Place a thin roll around the edge to finish. Brush with egg white and bake at 180°C for 45-50 minutes.
