Working time approx. 35 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 45 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 20 minutes

an old Mecklenburg recipe from my grandmother

Bring the milk to a boil with a pinch of salt. Meanwhile, pour the flour onto the counter and make a well in the center. Crack in the eggs and add 2 sachets of vanilla sugar. Mix everything together with a knife until large and small lumps form. When the milk boils, add the lumps and let them cook over low heat, stirring frequently. In the meantime, add the sugar and the remaining vanilla sugar (to taste). Finally, add the peeled and chopped pears. The dish is ready after about 15 minutes, when the milk has become mushy and the lumps have dissolved.
