Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500 ml buttermilk (fruit buttermilk lemon flavor)
  • 8 tbsp sugar
  • 1 packet of pudding powder (vanilla flavor)
  • 5 rolls from the day before
  • 2 apples, sour
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 4 tbsp clarified butter
  • ½ tsp cinnamon powder
  • 4 tbsp cranberries

Instructions

Working time approx. 1 hour; Rest time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 15 minutes

Whisk the buttermilk, 2 tablespoons of sugar, and the custard powder until smooth. Slice the rolls and soak in the mixture for 15 minutes. Wash, core, and slice the apples. Drizzle with the lemon juice. Fry the roll slices in 2 tablespoons of hot clarified butter until crispy. Fry the apple slices in 2 tablespoons of hot clarified butter until golden brown. Sprinkle with 2 tablespoons of sugar and let caramelize. Layer the roll and apple slices on top of each other. Mix together the remaining sugar and cinnamon powder. Sprinkle each serving with 1 tablespoon of cranberries and 1 tablespoon of cinnamon sugar. Serve sprinkled with cinnamon sugar and serve.
