Instructions
Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes
Dissolve cornstarch in about 6 tablespoons of milk. Bring the remaining milk to a boil with the 100g sugar, the lemon zest, and the cinnamon stick. When it starts to boil, remove the lemon zest and cinnamon. Add the milk-cornstarch mixture to the milk, stirring constantly, and bring back to a boil. Briefly rinse a baking pan (or similar) with cold water. Pour in the milk. (The milk should be about a finger’s breadth high in the pan.) Allow to cool completely. Cut the mixture into small cubes. Coat them in flour and beaten egg, and fry in a pan with hot cornstarch oil until golden brown. Drain on kitchen paper and sprinkle with sugar (or powdered sugar).
