Arroz con Leche from the slow cooker or crockpot

Ingredients for 6 servings:

  • 125 g rice pudding / Arborio rice
  • 1 liter milk, room temperature
  • ¼ vanilla pod(s), ground (in a blender) or a whole one slit open
  • 1 orange(s), peel the peel in a “snake”
  • 1 lemon(s), peel in long strips
  • 5 cm cinnamon, whole
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 4 tbsp sugar

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 3 hours; Total time approx. 3 hours 10 minutes

Recipe for a 3.5l SC – also works in the oven at 90°C in a high casserole dish

Servings: This makes 6 small dessert servings. Add everything to the crockpot or slow cooker and stir. Turn on HIGH and cook for 3 hours. Stirring once is fine, but then add 20 minutes to the cooking time. Then, remove anything that isn’t rice and divide it into serving jars, if desired, and refrigerate. If you want to eat it warm, omit 2 tablespoons of sugar, otherwise it will be too sweet.
