Garlic mashed potatoes

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1.3 kg potatoes
  • 10 garlic cloves
  • 225 ml milk
  • 125 g butter
  • salt and pepper
  • nutmeg

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 35 minutes

Peel and quarter the potatoes and bring to a boil in lightly salted water. Peel and quarter the garlic cloves. Add them to the potatoes after 10 minutes and cook for another 10 minutes, until the potatoes are tender. Place the potatoes and garlic in a colander, reserving 5 tablespoons of the cooking liquid. Pour the cooking liquid, milk, and butter into the pot and bring to a boil. Return the potatoes and garlic to the pan. Purée everything and season with salt, pepper, and nutmeg.
