Gieblis Zibarten jam made from fresh Zibarten

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 400 g plum(s) (Zibarten, red and yellow)
  • 250 g gelling sugar 2:1

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 5 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Zibarten usually taste sour, so you can store them in the freezer for a few days. Thaw in the refrigerator (a brownish color is normal). Zibarten come in a variety of colors, but they all taste the same. Purée the thawed Zibarten in a food mill and cook with the preserving sugar for 2-5 minutes. The resulting jam tastes sweet and sour.
