Glazed bacon strips

Spread the love

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 10 slices of bacon
  • 60 ml whiskey
  • 2 tbsp raw cane sugar
  • 1 garlic clove(s)
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • n. B. Cane sugar for sprinkling

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 12 minutes; Total time approx. 22 minutes

Preheat the oven to 200°C (top/bottom heat). Line a roasting pan with baking paper and arrange the bacon strips on it. Halve the garlic clove and place it in a saucepan with all the other ingredients. Bring to a boil and simmer for 2 to 3 minutes. Let it cool slightly, then brush the bacon strips onto the pan. Repeat this process 2 to 3 times. Sprinkle a little more sugar over the strips. Bake in the oven on the middle rack for about 12 minutes until crispy. Caution: the strips burn very easily and will then turn black and bitter! Perfect as a topping on salads and all kinds of hamburgers.
