Goose stuffed with apples and oranges

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 goose, 2.5 kg
  • salt and pepper
  • 500 ml water
  • 3 oranges
  • 2 apples
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 125 ml water
  • Paprika powder
  • orange juice

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Season the goose inside and out with salt, pepper, and paprika. Peel the oranges and cut them into pieces, slice the apples, and stuff the goose with the fruit pieces. Place the goose in a roasting pan and pour over ½ liter of hot water. Roast at 180°C for approximately 2.5 hours, brushing occasionally with orange juice. Add water to the roasting juices to make the desired sauce, season with salt, pepper, and orange juice. Mix cornstarch with cold water to thicken the sauce.
