Gooseberry-blackcurrant jam

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 500 g gooseberries
  • 500 g currants
  • 500 g gelling sugar (2:1)

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 5 minutes; Total time approx. 35 minutes

very simple but delicious jam

Clean and wash the gooseberries and currants (remove the stems). Puree the fruit and bring to a boil in a large saucepan with the preserving sugar. Boil gently for 3-4 minutes, then test the setting time (drop a few drops onto a plate and let cool). Once the consistency is as desired, turn off the heat and transfer the jam to prepared jars. This is best done using a ladle and a funnel. Turn the filled jars upside down for 5-10 minutes.
