Gorgonzola toast with Williams pear

Spread the love

Ingredients for 3 servings:

  • 12 slices of toast
  • 400 ml sour cream
  • 125 g Gorgonzola (Gorgonzola Dolce)
  • 1 pear(s) , (Williams pear)
  • salt and pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 25 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes

crispy toasted bread with pear and Gorgonzola

In a small bowl, mix the sour cream and Gorgonzola well with a fork. Season with salt and pepper. Core the Williams pear, cut into small cubes or pieces, and add to the mixture. Place the slices of toast on a baking sheet lined with baking paper and spread with the mixture. Place everything on the middle rack of an oven preheated to 200°C (top and bottom heat) for about 20-25 minutes. When the toast is lightly browned, it’s ready. I always use Gorgonzola Dolce for this recipe—a Gorgonzola variant with cream added to soften it. I would use fresh, full-bodied Gorgonzola much more sparingly, as it already has a very intense flavor. Season to your liking.
