Gieblis elderberry jelly

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 500 g elderberries
  • 500 ml water
  • 500 g gelling sugar
  • 2 tsp lemon juice

Instructions

from fresh elderberries

Add the freshly picked and washed elderberries to the boiling water and simmer for about 5 minutes. Strain the contents and crush the elderberries, if they haven’t burst yet, in a sieve. Bring the still-hot liquid back to a boil, add the lemon, and then simmer with the preserving sugar for another 5 minutes, stirring constantly. Pour the hot jelly into boiled jam jars or similar containers.
