Grandma’s Box White Bread

The perfect grandma’s box white bread recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 300 g Flour
  • 100 ml Water OR milk
  • 1 half cube Yeast fresh
  • 1 tsp Sugar
  • 1 tsp Salt
  1. Now put the flour in a bowl, make a hollow in the flour, crumble the yeast into it, sprinkle the sugar over the yeast, add the milk or water, stir with a little flour and let it rise for 30 minutes. Sprinkle salt on the flour, work everything into a dough and knead for at least 10 minutes! Now let the dough rise for the first time!
  2. Now grease and flour the loaf pan. The best way to shape the dough into a roll is to place it in the flour-greased mold. Now we let the dough rise for another 30 minutes until the dough has roughly doubled.
  3. Depending on the oven, we now preheat to 200-180 degrees and put the loaf pan in the oven for 50 minutes until it is lightly browned. Brush with water in between. Bread now falls out of the mold and let it cool down completely. A little tip if you let it rest in a plastic bag until the next day, it will be easy to cut the next day, but this is not a must!
