Gratinated fig with goat cheese, orange and Serrano ham, beetroot salad

Ingredients for 5 servings:

  • 5 figs, fresh
  • 100 g goat cheese, mild
  • 1 orange(s), untreated, zest
  • 5 slices of Serrano ham
  • Spice(s) of your choice
  • 2 beetroot, fresh
  • 1 apple
  • 1 cup crème fraîche
  • 10 walnuts

Instructions

Working time approx. 45 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 55 minutes

Cut the figs crosswise and fill them with the goat cheese, season lightly, and then place them in the oven at 190°C (top/bottom heat). When the cheese starts to melt, remove the figs, wrap the Serrano ham around the figs, and sprinkle with orange zest. Peel and coarsely grate the beets. Peel and coarsely grate the apple. Roughly chop the walnuts and stir in. Season the crème fraîche with honey and lemon, add to the beets, and stir in. Chill and let it marinate. Homemade bread is delicious with this dish.
