Green spelt patties

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 250 g green spelt meal
  • 200 g oat flakes, fine
  • 400 ml vegetable stock, possibly more
  • 1 onion(s)
  • 1 garlic clove(s)
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 1 egg(s)
  • salt and pepper
  • Paprika powder
  • e.g. mustard

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Rest time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour

hearty

Mix the green spelt meal and oat flakes and pour over the hot vegetable stock. Let it stand for about 20 minutes. If the mixture is too thick, add a little more vegetable stock. Meanwhile, finely dice the onion and garlic and sauté in 1 tablespoon of oil. Add to the grains. Stir in the egg and seasonings. Knead thoroughly and form patties from the mixture. Heat the remaining oil and fry the patties until crispy. This goes well with potatoes and vegetables, but you can also use it to make burgers.
