Grilled Caipi

Spread the love

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 1 lime(s)
  • 2 tsp brown sugar
  • 4 cl cachaça

Instructions

Working time approx. 1 minute; Cooking/baking time approx. 5 minutes; Total time approx. 6 minutes

Caipirinha from the grill

Halve the lime. Loosen the flesh a little with a fork – some of the juice will be lost this way. Sprinkle each lime halve with a teaspoon of brown sugar, press it down firmly, and let it absorb briefly. Grill the lime halves on the cut side for 1-3 minutes, then flip them over. Drizzle the cachaça over the lime halves. If you like it a little stronger, you can use more cachaça. CAUTION: If the cachaça drips into the embers, flash flames can occur! Grill for another 1-3 minutes. The lime should not turn black on the underside and should bubble slightly on the cut side above. Remove from the grill, let it cool briefly – the lime should still be warm – and then bite into the lime and suck on it. A combination of grilled dessert, nightcap, and refreshing kick!
