Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 8 figs, ripe
  • 200 g cheese, e.g. Gorgonzola, feta cheese, spicy Brie etc.
  • some thyme sprigs
  • 8 dashes Balsamic vinegar, fruity
  • pepper
  • chili

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

simple and special

Remove the stems from the figs and cut them crosswise to expose the flesh. Cut the cheese (Gorgonzola, feta, or Camembert, depending on your taste) into pieces and place them in the open figs. Place the figs in a grill-safe dish, sprinkle with thyme (important!), and drizzle each cheese with a few drops of fruity balsamic vinegar (our favorite is mango balsamic, but any will do). Top the figs with pepper and a touch of chili powder, then grill indirectly. Grill the figs in a closed grill for a few minutes, if possible. The cheese should melt slightly. Tips: We prefer to use a little more cheese so the savory flavor is stronger than the sweet. We place the filled dish in the grill once the main dish is ready. Delicious as a sidekick to chicken drumsticks or any other grilled meat. But also great as a highlight for leaf salads.
