Grilled salmon marinated with maple syrup

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 2 tbsp maple syrup
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp mustard (pineapple-ginger mustard)
  • a few stalks of basil
  • 1 sprig(s) rosemary
  • 600 g salmon with skin, in one piece
  • some sea salt, coarse and pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Rest time approx. 2 hours; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 2 hours 40 minutes

Wash the salmon and pat dry with kitchen paper. Place it on a piece of aluminum foil and set aside. For the marinade, combine the maple syrup, mustard, and olive oil. Chop the basil and rosemary and mix in. Spread the marinade over the salmon, then season with salt and pepper to taste. Twist the ends of the aluminum foil upwards like a candy wrapper and refrigerate the package for 2-3 hours. Preheat the electric grill to maximum heat and place the salmon in the aluminum foil on the hot grill. Depending on the grill, the salmon will be ready to eat after 15-20 minutes. A green salad with orange or mango dressing is a perfect side dish in summer.
