Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 375 g flour
  • 10 g yeast
  • 375 ml milk
  • 1 kg potatoes
  • 1 onion(s)
  • 150 g dried meat
  • 2 eggs
  • salt and pepper
  • nutmeg

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Cooking/baking time approx. 45 minutes; Total time approx. 2 hours 5 minutes

Savory waffles

Combine flour, milk, and yeast to form a thin dough and let it rise for 1 hour. Peel the potatoes, finely grate them, and let them drain in a sieve. Cut the jerked beef into small cubes. Grate the onion and stir it into the yeast dough along with the eggs, bacon, and potatoes. Season to taste with salt, pepper, and nutmeg. Bake the batter in a waffle iron. This mixture yields approximately 16 waffles. Serve with applesauce.
