Ingredients for 8 servings:
- 1 kg pork (gyros)
- 1 vegetable onion(s)
- 2 bell peppers, red
- 1 cup of sweet cream
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 cup crème fraîche with herbs
- 200 g sheep’s cheese
- 200 g cheese (e.g. Gouda), medium-aged, grated
- n. B. Spice mix for gyros
- Salt
- pepper
Instructions
Working time approx. 45 minutes; Total time approx. 45 minutes
Brown the gyro meat in batches in a hot pan and then place it in a casserole dish. Peel or trim and dice the onion and bell pepper. Then brown them and add them to the meat. Dice the feta cheese and pour it over the vegetables. Mix together the cream, sour cream, and crème fraîche. Season with gyro seasoning, salt, and pepper to taste and pour over the feta cheese. Cover with the grated cheese. Cook in a preheated oven at 225°C for about 30 minutes. Serve hot.
