Gyros – Spätzle – Casserole

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500 g pork, shredded and seasoned (gyros)
  • 250 g spaetzle
  • 1 cup of cream
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 bell pepper(s)
  • 1 onion(s)
  • Garlic clove(s) to taste
  • Grated cheese for topping

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 35 minutes

Cook the spaetzle until al dente. Finely slice the onions and fry them in the pan with the gyro, adding chopped garlic to taste. Chop the bell pepper and fry briefly with the meat. Layer the spaetzle and gyro in a casserole dish. Mix the sour cream with the cream and pour over the casserole. Sprinkle with cheese and bake at 180°C for about 10 minutes.
