Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 8 slices of toast
  • Butter or margarine
  • 8 slices of Gouda or toast cheese of your choice
  • 1 m.-sized onion(s), in thin rings
  • Cayenne pepper or chili powder
  • 4 slice(s) cooked ham (toast ham), possibly 8 slices
  • mayonnaise
  • ketchup

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 5 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

hot and spicy

Spread the outside of the slices of toast thinly with butter or margarine. Place a slice of cheese on each slice of toast, then a layer of thinly sliced ​​onion, then sprinkle generously with cayenne pepper or chili. Place a slice of ham (or two slices) and another slice of cheese on top, then top with a slice of toast.
