Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500 g pasta (spiral pasta)
  • some salt for the cooking water
  • 1 medium-sized onion(s), finely chopped
  • 1 ½ tbsp butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 200 g cooked ham, cut into very fine cubes
  • 3 tbsp, leveled flour
  • 150 g peas, frozen
  • 150 ml cream (full cream)
  • 350 ml beef broth, cold
  • 2 tbsp parsley, chopped
  • 4 tbsp Parmesan, grated
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • Worcestershire sauce, a few drops
  • some salt and pepper

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Pasta with ham – quick to make

Bring salted water to a boil and cook the pasta until al dente. Meanwhile, heat the butter in a pan, sauté the onions and garlic until translucent, add the ham, and fry lightly for about 2 minutes. Dust with flour, stir in well, add the cream and stock, and stir in the frozen peas. Bring to a boil and simmer gently for about 5 minutes. Season the sauce with salt, pepper, lemon juice, and Worcestershire sauce. Drain the pasta, then arrange in deep bowls. Pour the sauce over the pasta and sprinkle with the herbs. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese, if desired.
